In 1993 Lisa decided to continue in her family’s footsteps and become an entrepreneur turning her passion for beauty into an official business. She was just a teenager then. Lisa saved her profits from servicing family and friends as she was a local hairstylist in Brooklyn, New York. With the money she saved she rented her first space, purchased a sink, a dryer, two salon chairs, and a slew of inventory. Black Butterfly Salon was born.

After mastering her craft in beauty and entrepreneurship, she furthered her education at BMCC in New York. In search of better opportunities she decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia where she continued her cosmetology studies and learned the latest techniques to produce new hair trends. In 2007 she was able to re-open Black Butterfly Hair Salon and Spa. She built a strong clientele and was also able to work with celebrities. Her accomplishments include music videos, photo shoots and runway shows. She is also no stranger to giving back to her community. She created a Family Fun Day in DeKalb County offering free activities, performances and back to school giveaways. Just recently she was involved in the first “Balling for Boobs” breast cancer awareness event sponsored by Susan G. Komen.

​This is only the beginning for Lisa as she continues to grow in the industry while maintaining personal and celebrity clientele. With faith in God and the support of her work staff, family, and friends she plans to one day open her very own Cosmetology School.
